Hi there! I've been eating Jake for a while now. While I am a happy customer, there a couple of things that I find inconvenient. I leave this here in the hope that it can be useful in improving Jake.

  1. I struggle getting all the powder out of the bag without spilling. I hold it inside the shaker and jiggle it a bit, but as the bag reaches the edge of the shaker, sometimes some powder will escape.

  2. Cleaning the shaker by hand is hard. The remains of a Jake shake will stick to the wall, making it cumbersome. The dishwasher can do it just fine, but an easier way to clean it by hand would be nice.

  3. I sometimes bring Jake to the office. The shaker is so big it makes my bag bulge (I struggle to close it). If it was more oval and less circular it might be easier to carry. Or maybe there is a radically different design that fits nicely in a bag.

  4. Bonus! I wish there was an easy way to clean the shaker before brining it home from the office. This method might also be nice if I am hiking and want to clean the shaker between meals or at night. I imagine like a tiny bag of powder that I can add to the shaker, shake and rinse a couple of times.

  5. Bonus! The shaker is convenient, but I do not like the design or materials very much. I have done a bit of searching, looking for nice shakers, but it seems not that common. I would not mind paying a premium for a nice shaker. If I am eating Jake around others, I want it to feel slightly more glamorous.

That's all I can think of for now. Keep up the good work!

Hi Henrik,

Couple of tips from how I'm doing it myself.

  1. I cut the top of the bag entirely. squeeze it inside my hand, invert the bag, put a few centimeters inside the shaker, then release the whole thing. Not a single drop of power will escape.

  2. Get smaller hands. Bottle brush (10$ on amzn) would work just fine too

  3. I leave a spare shaker at my office, with a few pouches.

  4. See 2. I also got myself multiple shakers and have them cleaned with the dishwasher. Enough to rotate so I always got at least 2 cleaned already.

  5. I have multiple designs - because I also used the shakers for other purposes. While not the best-looking, I found the jake shaker the most convenient and easier to clean.

Hello! I've been using jake for about a month I think, and without question the easiest way is to open a pouch is with a siccor and cut it like I show here (the green line) and not as adviced from the pouch (the red line). By making the hole smaller it is easier to pour it in the shaker, and also it will not come out all at once in a dramatic fast way..With practice you can "easy" make this kind of cut without any siccor  Before cutting it make sure to hit the pouch with your fnger where I made the red line a few times to avoid spill when cutting it.

Also I recommend to pour in a 3rd of it at a time or halv of it if it's jake light, and after pouring just lightly shake the pouch over the sink to get those little annoying powder in the sink instead of on your table when you put down the pouch to shake the shaker!

When it comes to cleaning I'm always using the shaker at home so I manually clean it with a brush directly after each use.

well, if i understand your 1st problem correct...

i only use 350ml of water, adding JAKE - shake it well - adding the rest of the water & shake it again.
but i also go into the shaker and fill up the delicious mountain of JAKE. (in the beginning more carefully until i get it)

1 month later

I took the advice of Antoine, and bought some extra (large) shakers that I keep at work.

In practice, having extra shakers works great, and with the extra size even I manage to get all the powder in without spilling.

I have also bought some bars. They are a nice shaker substitute. It now looks like I'm munching on a chocolate bar, which is slightly less eye-catching than the giant shakers.

2 months later

i bought a stainless steel shaker from "Blender Bottle" a bit expensive but worth it imo.
