Hi, I have a question about customs fees when ordering in Switzerland. Although the FAQ notes that 'I may be levied additional fees' I know from experience the Swiss customs can be pretty random, sometimes i dont have to pay anything sometimes I do.

Any fellow Swiss that cares to elaborate on the fees?

Hi Andy, in principle you always have to pay Swiss VAT over the total price. As shipping is on us and we don't calculate the 6% Dutch VAT with order to Switzerland, you pay the normal Jake price -/-6% Dutch VAT +/+8% Swiss VAT.

I can honestly not give you an answer to why you sometimes don't have to pay customs/VAT, so it would indeed be interesting to see what happens to with the other Swiss' orders.

Hoi Andy, i am swiss too. My orders were delivered to a packetstation in Germany (Konstanz) near border, because of the high custom fees. You could be sure that you get Custom fees or/and Post fees (because of the heavy pack and its size), but i dont know how much. Example: from an order i have made last year the Price for the item was 70$ and i paid around 30CHF extra for fees (was an order from US).

Thanks guys. It's not even so much that I have to pay a fee, kind of used to that, but it's that I don't know how much the fee will be which bothers me. I'm just gonna go for a big shipment to my friends' place in Germany and collect it there.

Just give them a call, I bet they can tell you all you need to know, here, their number: +41 58 467 15 15.
