I quite liked the taste of Jake when I started out using it nearly two months ago. Lately with the newest batch I received it tastes a bit more like flour with a certain aftertaste.

Has something changed with the recipe? Or am I just imagining things?

Are you on Jake Light? I have noticed something too... I think. Something I'd call savoury, but very faint so I'm not sure whether I just didn't notice it before or it actually wasn't there.

I'll just wait for the next batch and hope it gets better.

Hi @Vlyn, thanks for letting us know! To answer your question, there have been no changes to Jake's recipe (ingredients nor nutritional profile). Slight changes in taste and feel are however very very hard to avoid completely.

For instance, oats will always be a bit different, based on season, country of origin, farmer, how finely the oats have been ground, et cetera. The same goes for many of the other ingredients.

The lycopene used in the current batches is a bit less powdery, which is why you'll find little red lycopene spots in your powder before you shake it.

Jake is constantly in development, but should we make actual changes to the recipe, this will be reflected in the packaging, website and we'll make sure everyone is properly informed.

Hope this takes away your concern. Should you notice any differences, DO let us know. Whether positive or negative, it's important for our product control/consistency to know your experience.

@Frank_Official thanks for your answer, but I just stopped my monthly subscription after trying to cope with the taste for a week.

I currently have 3 different batch numbers of Jake Original, 2 at home and 1 at work. All three are slightly different.

The oldest of them is okay (About 5 meals or so left), maybe a bit worse than the very first batches I received but fine (See the thread opener, the following is about the newest delivery from this month). The newest batch I have is a bit worse (also a bit more red in color) but also still okay (19 left, I only tried it to see if there's a difference). The one in the middle though, batch number 0026 is terrible, the color is definitely more red than from other batches and the taste is off too. I had about 8 meals of those now (Sadly 32 left.. I haven't opened one of the boxes at home yet, so no clue which batch is in there) and there's definitely a difference, I more or less have to force it down if I want to eat it..

I also talk about the shake being more red (After thoroughly shaking!) and not the actual powder. It looks different and it tastes different and I can tell, I'm drinking Jake 2-3 times a day and have been doing so for months.

I'm sorry, but such a quality difference is just not acceptable, especially when one box costs me 50€ and I'm currently sitting on at least 2 boxes of that batch (Still have to check the batch number of one unopened box at home). It's a bummer too, I quite liked Jake when I started out with it and I still like the taste of the older batch (Even though that one was already slightly off).

Just got my Light-Subscription after a 1-time purchase.
First i had batch 25 and it was tasty with a vanilla taste to it.
The Sub is batch 28/29, has (when in contact with water) red things in it,
which color it reddish and the great vanilla taste is gone...
What is going on, that's not what i expected or wanted after the great batch 25.

Totally agree. The good batches are excellent and the bad ones...let's just say if they had been the first ones delivered to me I wouldn't have ordered any more.
