Future Food Documentary - Introduction

Hey people! My name is Matthijs I'm an independent film-maker who is currently working on a documentary project about the future of food. For this documentary project I will eat Jakefood (and other brands) only for the time of one year.

I'm curious if there's anybody out there who is currently doing the same diet. So 100% Jakefood. Get in touch! I want to know how you're doing!

This is the Youtube account. I try to post at least one update every two weeks although I'm pushing to towards one a week as the projects furthers and my experiences will grow.

@futurefood I think you should stop complaining. You're doing this to yourself. It's not like Jake/Joylent is meant to go 100% on at all. Putting up some kind of invisible boundary, for what?

For someone that spent as much time as I assume you've spent researching this for the doc and now doing/eating this, I can't figure why you'd go 100%. You do know that's not the point right? It's the opposite, it's the freedom to spend your time and energy the way you want to. Quick healthy food when you need it.

So your last update your talking about instagram and alcohol, where I kinda want to know what the long term effects of living on 100% meal replacements.

Also, what was your diet before you switched to 100% Jake? I think that also influences the way your body reacts to it big time.

Dont really feel like watching all your updates but Im certainly looking forward to seeing your documentary!

The production of this film will be last 12 months from the time I have started this project; 4th of September this year. So I have another 40 weeks to go. After these 40 weeks I am allowed to eat normal again and I'd like to film that for about 2 weeks at least.

Then the post production of the film starts i.e. edit, sound design, colour and subtitles. This will probably take at least 30 working days, most likely spread out over a period of 2 months. So hopefully in about a year from know I'd have a finished film.

I'm awaiting my first blood test results to see where I stand currently. I did not took blood tests prior to this diet (I know, I know!) Real curious about that!

See this post for weight details. I'm going to only use this scale in order to keep track with all the other specs it provides.

I'm not complaining. I'm simply talking about my discomforts and how I deal with them as a reference point in regards to this project.

I understand that the project I'm doing right now is not "meant to be" and that's exactly the reason why I want to do it in the first place. See, I do believe that it is possible and I'm really curious if my believe is true. So there is only one way to figure that out

Perhaps you could think of this project as the documentary film "Super Size Me" but then in the opposite direction, sort off...

Perhaps! Up until now I feel great, from a physical point of view. It's the psychological part that's playing with me.
